Answer:

The present age of father = 80

The present age of son= 20

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the age of father be 'F' and age of son be 'S'

According to question-:

Age of father is four times the age of his son.

F=4S [eq.1]

After 10 years Condition-:

Age of father will become three times the age of his son.

F+10=3(S+10) [eq.2]

10 come here because the condition is after 10 years.

Now, Substituting F=4S in eq.2

we get,

=> 4S+10=3S+30

=> [S=20]

Substituting S=20 in eq.1

we get,

F=4*20

F=80

Let son's age is = x

than father's age is =4x

AFTER 10 YEAR

father will be 3 times than him

According to question

4x+10= 3 (x+10)

4x+10=3x+30

4x- 3x=30-10

x=20

therefore son's present age is 20

and father's present age is 80
