Given:

  • Length of a train is 270m
  • Speed of train is 40.5km/h

To find :

  • How much time will train take to cross a tree.

Solution:

It is given that length of train is 270m long which is running with speed of 40.5km/h. Considering given question, we have to find that how much will train take to cross a tree. So first of all we need to know that in this condition (when a train is crossing any tree or pole) we take only length of train not of tree or poles.

Therefore,

  • Distance have to cover = 270m
  • Speed = 40.5km/h =>  40.5 \times  \frac{5}{18} = 11.25m/s

We know that :

  • \large{\boxed{\sf{\green{Time\:=\:\dfrac{distance}{speed}}}}}

Where,

  • Distance = 270m ••••(given)
  • Speed = 11.25m/s ••••(given)

Let put given values in formula :-

\large{\sf{Time\:=\:\dfrac{distance}{speed}}}

\implies\large{\sf{Time\:=\:\dfrac{270}{11.25}}}

\implies\large{\sf{Time\:=\:24}}

Hence,

  • \large{\boxed{\tt{\pink{Train\:will~take~24~second~to~cross~tree.}}}}
