Step-by-step explanation:

A(rectangle)=l×b=20×10=200sq.m...(1)

Here,

The path is 5m wide

•Length of the path=20+5=20m

•Breadth of the path=20+5=15m

Now,

A(rectangle+path)=l×b=20×15=300sq.m...(2)

•Subtracting (1) from (2) to find the A(path), we get,

A(path)=A(rectangle+path) - A(rectangle)

A(path)=300-200

A(path)=100sq.m

Therefore, the area of the path running around a rectangle is 100sq.m.
