Given

  • A ball is projected vertically
  • Initial Velocity = 50 m/s

To Find

  • Maximum height reached
  • Time taken
  • The velocity of the ball at its maximum height

Solution

v²-u² = 2gs

v = u + gt

Maximum Height Reached :

→ v²-u² = 2gs

→ 0²-50² = 2 × (-10) × s

→ -2500 = -20s

→ -2500/-20 = s

Maximum Height = 125 m

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Time taken :

→ v = u + gt

→ 0 = 50 + (-10) × t

→ -50 = -10t

→ -50/-10 = t

→ Time = 5 sec

  • Also the Velocity of the ball at its maximum height would be zero. This is because, of it had any other Velocity except 0 then it would cover some more distance.
