2. A block of mass 1 kg is thrown from the surface of the
earth with the speed of 10 m/s. Find the work done by the
gravitational force during vertical motion of the body.
(g = 10 m/s2)

\LARGE{\bf{\underline{\underline{GIVEN:-}}}}

  • Mass (m) = 1 kg.
  • velocity (v) = 10ms⁻¹.
  • Acceleration due to gravity (g) = 10ms⁻².

\LARGE{\bf{\underline{\underline{TO:FIND:-}}}}

  • Work done by the gravitational force.

\LARGE{\bf{\underline{\underline{SOLUTION:-}}}}

We know that work done during vertical motion, i.e., kinetic energy is:

\sf{\red{K.E.=\dfrac{1}{2} mv^2}}

\sf K.E. = \dfrac{1}{2} \times 1 \times 10^2

\sf K.E.=\dfrac{100}{2}

\boxed{\sf{\red{ K.E. = 50 J.}}}

WORK DONE :- 50 J.
