2. A Car is travelling at 20 m/s along a road. A child runs out into the road 50 m ahead and the car driver steps on the brake pedal. What must the car's deceleration be if the car is to stop just before it reaches the child?

Here is ur answer....
Initial velocity= 20m/s
Final velocity= 0 m/s
Distance travelled= 50 m
Acceleration= ?
v²=u² + 2as......(2nd eqn of motion)
0² = (20)² + 2a* 50
0= (400) + 100a
-400= 100a
-400/100 = a
-4 = a
Therefore deacceleration= 4 m/s²
