Initial velocity ( u ) = 10m/s
Fimal velocity ( v ) = 0m/s
Time taken ( t ) = 40 seconds
Using eq. of motion
v = u + at
0 = 10 + a × 40
0 = 10 + 40a
-10 = 40a
-10/40 = a
-0.25 = a
acceleration = -0.25
Force = Mass × Acceleration
Force = 1000 × 0.25
Force = 250 newton.
