The diver has to descend 48 meters more to reach the cave.

Step-by-step explanation:

A diver is at an elevation of - 12 meters relative to the sea level. Now, the diver descends to an undersea cave that  is 5 times as far from the surface.

Therefore, the undersea cave is at - (12× 5) = - 60 meters relative to the sea level.

Hence, the diver has to descend (60 - 12) = 48 meters more to reach the cave. (Answer)
