so, X+Y=60.....(I)

Again,

six yrs ago the age of father was (X-6) yrs and Son's age was (Y-6).

so,X-6=5(Y-6)

=>5Y-X =24.....(ii)

(I)+(ii)=>6Y=84

=>Y=14

so,X=60-14=46

son's age is 14yrs and father is 46 yrs old now.
