Step-by-step explanation:

Let Son Present age be x years.

Then, Father age = 2x

Son age = ( Present age - 20 ) years

= ( x - 20 ) years

Father age = ( Present age - 20 ) years

= ( 2x - 20 ) years

Given,

Father age = 12 time the age of the son

➠ 2x - 20 = 12 ( x - 20 )

➠ 2x - 20 = 12x - 240

➠ 2x - 12x = -240 + 20

➠ - 10x = -220

➠ x = 22

Therefore,

Son age is 22 years and father age = 2× 22 = 44 years
