2. A force of 800 N exerts a pressure on
an area of 40.cm². What is the magnitude
of the pressure?

Answer: 20 cm²

Given Information:

Force = 800 N

Pressure = 40 N / cm²

Substituting in the formula we get,

\implies 40 \:N/cm^2 = \dfrac{800\:N}{Area}\\\\\\\implies Area = \dfrac{ 800 \: N}{40\:N/cm^2}\\\\\\\implies Area = 20 \:cm^2

Hence Area upon which it is acting is 20 cm²
