In the first day the frog ate 12 bugs.

In the second fifth (4th) day the frog ate 36 bugs.

Given data :

Total eaten in 5 days = 140

Everyday the count increases by 8.

Let,the number of bugs eaten in the first day = x

So,in the second day the number of bugs = x + 8

Third day = x+8+8 = x+16

Fourth day or second fifth day = x + 16 + 8 = x + 24

Fifth day = x+24+8 = x+32

So,

x+x+8+x+16+x+24+x+32 = 140

5x + 80 = 140

5x = 60

x = 12

So,the frog ate 12 bugs in the first day. (Answer)

In the second fifth day the frog ate = 12+24 = 36 bugs (answer)
