day he works and will be find Rs. 60 for each day he is absent if the receives Rs. 2540 in

Let the number of days he worked = x

No. of days he did not work = 20 -x

Money recieved for each day working = Rs 280

Money deducted for each day he is absent = Rs 60

According to the question,

280x - (20- x) 60 = 2540

280x - 1200 + 60 x = 2540

340 x - 1200 = 2540

340 x = 2540 + 1200

x = 3740 / 340

x = 11

Hence , no. of days he worked = 11

No. of days he did not worked = 20 -11 = 9
