Answer:

There are many reasons due to which changes are being induced in the environment leading to pollution.

1) Air pollution is the most common and dangerous form of pollution. Daily cooking, driving and industrial activities lead to burning of fuels which release toxic gases into the atmosphere and deplete the oxygen levels, thus causing pollution.

2) Release of toxic wastes from industries and disposing sewage into running water causes water pollution and depletes water oxygen levels making it unfit for aquatic animals, plants and humans. Spraying of insecticides on crops pollutes the ground water system. Water pollution not only harms the aquatic beings but it also contaminates the entire food chain by severely affecting humans dependent on these.

4) Noise pollution due to unpleasant sound from different sources such as machines in industries, loud music, etc affects humans leading to psychological problems like stress, hypertension, hearing impairment, etc.

5) Incorporation of unwanted chemicals in the soil due to human activities causes soil pollution. Use of insecticides and pesticides absorbs the nitrogen compounds from the soil making it unfit for plants to derive nutrition from. Release of industrial waste, mining and deforestation also exploits the soil.
