Answer:Distance = speed ×time

First convert 15 minutes into hour as the unit need to be same before multiplying

So 15min =15/60 hour =1/4 hour

So distance =12×1/4 =3 km

How I wrote km?

As we multiply the digits ,units also get multiplied . therefore we brought them in same units.

As in above case

Distance=speed ×time

Unit of Distance =unit of speed × unit of time

Unit of Distance=(km/hr) ×hr =km

Hence km is unit.
