Answer:

A cyclist takes two hours less to cover a distance of 200 km, if he increases his speed by 5km/hr., what is his original speed?

Get the shot, even after dark with night mode of Nokia 2.4.

Let us suppose the speed of the cyclist be ‘v’ km/hr , therefore the time taken to cover 200 km will be (200/v) hr. If he increases his speed by 5 km/hr , then the distance will be covered in (200/v+5) hr.

According to the question:

200/v -200/(v+5) =2

Taking L.C.M.

1000/v(v+5) = 2

On solving the quadratic eq. , we get permissible value of v to be equal to 20 km/hr.
