Answer:

the correct answer is 170100

Step-by-step explanation:

screws in first three quarters is 84,500 + 95000 + 150400 = 329900

screws needed = 500000 - 329900 = 170100

Solution:

Given that, a manufacturer needs to manufacture 5,00,000 screws in a year.

Production of goods in:

  • First Quarter = 84,500
  • Second Quarter = 95,000
  • Third Quarter = 1,50,400

Let the production of screw in the last quarter be x.

Then, we know that, sum of production of screws in four quarters is equal to the production of screws in a year.

→ 84,500+95,000+1,50,400+x = 5,00,000

→ 3,29,900+x = 5,00,000

→ x = 5,00,000-3,29,900

→ x = 1,70,100

Hence, the production of screw during the last quarter to meet the demand is 1,70,100
