2. A manufacturer sells an item to an agency at a profit of 25%. The agency sells the item
to a shopkeeper at 10% profit and shopkeeper sells the item at a profit of 20%. If the
selling price of the item is Rs.594, find the manufacturing price.​

Answer:

Let the CP of the item for the manufacturer be x

Profit=25/100*x= 25/100x

SP for the manufacturer = CP of the agency= 125x/100

SP for agency =CP for shopkeeper= 10/100 *125x/100+ 125x/100

=11x/8

SP of the shopkeeper=66x/40

Therefore,

66x/40=594

= Rs. 360

Therefore the CP of the manufacturer = Rs.360
