The profit percentage of publisher is 17 %.
A publisher has printed the price of a book as Rs. 286 increasing 30% more on the production price. But at the time of selling, he has given 10% discount on marked price.
The profit percentage of the publisher.
A/C to question,
Printed price of a book as 286 increasing 30 % more on the production price.
∴ production price = cost price = Printed price/130 × 100
= 286/130 × 100
= 2860/13
= 220 Rs.
Publisher has given 10 % discount on marked price.
∴ selling price = 286 - 10% of 286
= 286 - 28.6
= 257.4 Rs.
∴ percentage profit = (selling price - cost price)/cost price × 100
= (257.4 - 220)/220 × 100
= 17%
Therefore the profit percentage of publisher is 17 %.
