Answer:-

Given:

  • Length of garden = 11m

  • Breadth of garden = 8m

  • Width of path along the side of garden = 2m

To Find:

  • Area of path

Solution:

Finding the area of garden.

➣Area of garden

= length × breadth

= 11 × 8

= 88m²

➣Length of garden along with path

= 11 + (2×2) [Road at both sides]

= 11 + 4

= 15 m

➣Breadth of garden along with path

= 8 + (2×2) [Road at both sides]

= 8 + 4

= 12 m

Finding the area of garden along with path.

➣Area of garden along with path

= new length × new breadth

= 15 × 12

= 180 m²

Finding area of path.

➣Area of path

= Area of garden along path - area of garden

= 180 - 88

= 92 m²

Area of the path is 92 m²

Formula to be remembered:-

▪︎Area of rectangle = length × breadth

▪︎Area of square = side × side

▪︎Area of triangle = ½ × base × height

▪︎Area of parallelogram = base × height

▪︎Area of rhombus = ½ × diagonal ¹ × diagonal ²
