Answer:

Please refer to the explanation for answer

Explanation:

Given,

Resistance (R)= 20 ohm, Inductance (L)= 0.2H, Capacitance = 150μF

All are connected in series.

Voltage = 230 V, frequency = 50Hz

X_L={2\pi f L}= 62.8Ω

X_C=\frac{1}{2\pi fC}=21.2Ω

X=X_L-X_C=41.6   Ω

I= V/Z= \frac{230}{46.2}=4.97A

|Z|=\sqrt{R^2+X^2}=\sqrt{20^2+41.6^2}=46.2  Ω

Z=R+jX=20+j41.6

\phi =tan^{-1}\frac{Z}{R} =64.3

Y=\frac{1}{Z}=\frac{1}{46.2}=0.0216

p.f = cos\phi=0.433\\

Active power = VI cos\phi= 230*4.97*0.433=494.9623

Reactive power =VI sin\phi= 230*4.97*sin(64.3)=1030 Watt
