2. A room has two rectangular walls of dimensions 20 16 feet and two square walls of dimensions
16 x 16 feet. One of the square walls has a door of dimensions 8 3 feet. Find the cost of
painting the room at the rate of Rs 0.5 per square feet:​

The rectangular walls area= 20×16=320 feet²

The square walls area= 16²= 256 feet²

The total area of the four walls = 2(320+256)=1152 feet²

doors area = 8×3=24 feet²

so, 1152-24 = 1128 feet²

the total cost = 1128×0.5= 564/- Ans

area of door length *breadth

8*3=24 which substract from one wall therefore

512-24=488
