Step-by-step explanation:(i) profit on pen =45*1=45Rs

Loss=Rs 5 total loss on pencil=45+5=50Rs

Loss on 1 pencil=40 paise

Total number of pencils=50*100/40

5000/40=125

(ii) 70pens =profit of Rs 70

Total loss on pencils =₹70+0=70Rs

Loss on 1 pencil=40paise

number of pencils sold=70*100/40

7000/40=175 pencils
