2: A straight solenoid of length 50 cm has 1000 tums per metre and mean cross-sectional area of
2 *. 0001m2. It is placed with its axis at 30° with uniform magnetic field of 0.32 T. Find the torque
acting on the solenoid when a current of 2 ampere is passed through it.

Hey Pretty Stranger!

We're here given with :

• l = 50 cm = ½ m

• N = 1000

• A = 2 × 10⁻⁴ m²

• θ = 30°

• B = 0.32 T

• I = 2A

We've to find

• The torque acting, τ

We know that :

★ τ = M B sin θ

[ M = N I A]

→ τ = (N I A) B sin θ

→ 1000 × 2 × 2 × 10⁻⁴ × 0.32 × ½

τ = 0.064 N -m

\therefore The torque acting, τ on the solenoid is 0.064 N -m

The torque acting, τ on the solenoid is 0.064 N -m
