Given: Tree shed 15% of its leaves in a week and

10% of the remaining leaves in the next week

To Find:  percentage of the original number of leaves are on the tree

steps:

Let, Initially Leaves are in plant = 100

Leaves shaded in first week = 15%

15% of 100 is 15

so, ( 100- 15= 85)

⇒ Leaves shaded in second week = 10% of remaining leaves ( i.e., 100-15= 85)

we should have to calculate 10% of rest 85 of leaves present in plant

\frac{10}{100}×85 =8.5

 leaves left in tree = (85 - 8.5 =76.5)

Percentage of Leaves left in tree

 \frac{76.5}{100}×100 ⇒  76.5%

Percentage of Leaves left in tree ⇒ 76.5 %
