A Two numbers are in the ratio 3:5. If six is subtracted from each number,the ratio becomes 5:9. Find the numbers?​

Answer:

Let the number are 3x and 5x

then according to the question

5x−9/3x−9 = 23/12

⇒23(3x−9)=12(5x−9)

⇒69x−60x=207−108

⇒9x=99

⇒x=11

∴ smaller number is =3×11=33
