Given:

Weight of bucket filled with water is 80N

Force applied on bucket is 100N

To Find:

Whether pulley is ideal or practical machine

Relation between mechanical- advantage & its velocity ratio

Function of pulley

Solution:

Answer of first question is pulley is practical machine because its efficiency less than ideal -machine

Answer of second question-

To find mechanical advantage

Weight of water = 80N

Force applied on bucket= 100N

Mechanical -advantage = Weight of bucket (Load)/ Force

 = \dfrac{80}{100} = 0.8

Velocity-ratio is ratio of distance between travelled by load& by force applied.

Relation between mechanical- advantage & velocity- ratio is called efficiency

Answer of third question - Function of pulley- to make the heavy object move.
