a) By definition, polymers are large molecules made by bonding (chemically linking) a series of building blocks. The word polymer comes from the Greek words for “many parts.” Each of those parts is scientists call a monomer (which in Greek means “one part”). Think of a polymer as a chain, with each of its links a monomer.

b) Rayon is obtained by the chemical treatment of wood pulp. 1)Wood pulp is dissolved in an alkaline solution to form sticky liquid called viscose. 2)Viscose is forced to pass through the tiny holes of metal cylinder into a solution of sulphuric acid when a silk like thread of rayon is formed.

c) Clothing – Shirts, Foundation garments, lingerie, raincoats, underwear, swimwear and cycle wear.

Industrial uses – Conveyer and seat belts, parachutes, airbags, nets and ropes, tarpaulins, thread, and tents.

It is used to make a fishnet are the uses.
