2. Activity: Carry out osmosis phenomenon using potatoes

Procedure:

1. Take three peeled potato halves and scoos each one out to make a potato cups A, B and C.

2. Take one peeled, boiled potato half and scoos it to make potato cup D.

3. Keep unboiled potato cup A empty.

4. Put unboiled potato cup B into a beaker containing water.

5. Put one teaspoon sugar/salt in unboiled potato cup C after keeping in water for 2 hours, and

6. Put one teaspoon sugar in the boiled potato cup D

7. Keep all these four cups for 2 hours and then observe changes in them.

Record your observations in all the four cups and draw conclusion.

In this activity the activity will be determined to see the osmosis .

1. since the sugar is added in b and c  , water from the trough gathered in the hollowed portions .
2. water does not gathered in the hollowed portion of potato a ; and d also because they are boiled potato . so , the osmosis doesn't take place in a and d .
