- He couldn't speak further, could he?
- The goal was to achieve perfection, wasn't it?
- We often watch TV in the afternoon, don't we?
- Shekhar will visit the hospital, won't he?
- I am responsible for all the chaos, ain't I?
The addition of a question tag changes a statement from affirmative to interrogative.
While doing so the following points should be kept in mind-
- Since it is an interrogative sentence, obviously there should be an addition of the question mark (?) at the end of the statement.
- The intended meaning must not be altered in any way.
- Generally, either wh-word like 'who, where, whom, when,' etc or words like 'couldn't he, isn't it, can't they ', etc are added to change a statement into an interrogative sentence.
