The resolution included both religious and political issues. It asked for recognising Sikhism as a religion separate from Hinduism. It also demanded that power be generally devoluted from the Central to state governments, and more autonomy to Punjab.

Answer:

2 additional demands made by Akali Dal in 1977 were

1) Larger share of river water for Punjab.

2) Holy city status to Amritsar.

Explanation:

AMBALA, December 24.

"The Akali Dal does not want any special treatment in terms of concessions, weightage, or seat reservation," said S. Hukam Singh, M.P., President of the Shromani Akali Dal, at a well-attended public meeting last night in the Grain Market here. "All that-it demands is equal right of citizenship for Sikhs, protection of Punjabi as the State's mother tongue and of Punjabi culture, justice to backward classes, regardless of whether they belonged to the Hindu or the Sikh community, and recruitment to services based solely on merit," he added.

S. Hukam Singh, who described the Hindu community as Sikhs' elder brother, complained that the latter had been treated stepmotherly by the Nehru Government and the Congress, with which Sikhs had fought shoulder to shoulder in the country's struggle for independence. He denied that the Punjab Akalis or Sikhs were communal and wanted further partition of the country, or that the Dal's policy was similar to that of the Muslim League.
