Adjacent sides basically refer to the length and. breadth.

Adjacent sides = (2x²-3y²) and (4x²-xy)

TO FIND : AREA AND PERIMETER

AREA:

area = length × breadth

area = (2x²-3y²) × (4x²-xy)

{We can easily solve this sum by using a identity (x+a)(x+b) but I'm not sure whether it's taught to you so I'm normally just multiplying but if you want to you can use the identity}

area = (2x²)(4x²)+(2x²)(-xy)+(-3y²)(4x²)+(-3y²)(-xy)

{or}

area = 2x²(4x²-xy) - 3y²(4x²-xy)

area = 8x-2x³y-12y²x²+3y³x

PERIMETER:

perimeter = 2(l+b)

perimeter = 2{(2x²-3y²)+(4x²-xy)}

perimeter = 2{2x²-3y²+4x²-xy}

perimeter = 2{6x²-3y²-xy}

perimeter = 12x²-6y²-2xy

hope it helps

have a great day
