mass=500g =0.5kg

now

v=0

u=50

t=0.02

use F=ma ( formula of force)

F=0.5(v-u)/t

F=0.5×2500

F=1250N

Answer:

G I V E N :-

❥ Mass (m) = 500 g = 0.5 kg

❥ velocity (v) = 0 m/s

❥ Initial velocity (u) = 20 m/s

❥ Time (t) = 0.02 s

Explanation:

From Newton's second law of motion

➵ f = \frac{ m \: (v \: - \: u) }{ t }

  • Where f = force

➵ f = \frac{ 0.5 \: × \: (0 \: - \: 20) }{ 0.02 }

➵ f = \frac{ -10 }{ 0.02 }

\large\fbox\green{ f \: \: = \: \: -500 \: N }

-ve sigh indicates the force of the nail on the hammer moving in the opposite direction to that of hammer movement.
