Answer:

answer will be sulphur dioxide, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen dioxide.. means a, b and d..because oxides of non metals are acidic in nature and oxides of metals are basic in nature... ex sodium oxide, calcium oxide etc.

when non metals oxides reacts with water they forms acids... for ex: CO2 + H2O——> H2CO3 .

while non metals oxides forms base ex : Na2O + H2O——> NaOH + H2

but you have not given correct option...

hope you liked it....

Oxide that is acidic and has pungent odor can be a) Sulfur dioxide and d) Nitrogen dioxide.

Explanation:

Sulfur dioxide:

  • Sulfur dioxide is a nonflammable, colorless gas that is heavier than air.
  • Its strong, pungent odor and irritating properties usually provide adequate warning of its presence.
  • Sulfur dioxide is an acidic gas and this can easily be demonstrated by adding water and a few drops of universal indicator to a container of the gas.
  • Sulfur dioxide is a major component of acid rain.

Nitrogen dioxide:

  • Nitrogen dioxide is a reddish-brown gas with a pungent, acrid odor and one of the several oxides of nitrogen.
  • Nitrogen dioxide at high concentrations causes inflammation of the airways.
  • Nitrogen dioxide is also considered as primary and secondary pollutants.
  • Nitrogen dioxide is an acidic gas and produce an acidic solution in the water.
