a) religious ritual is any repetitive and patterned behavior that is prescribed by or tied to a religious institution, belief, or custom, often with the intention of communicating with a deity or supernatural power.

b) Ritual gives shape to emotions and helps humans come to terms with the major events of life. Religious ritual has generally been seen as indispensable in deepening spiritual insight. The repetition of rituals instils religious values and attitudes in the lives of the worshippers.

c) All Eastern religions (Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Chinese Folk, Taoism, Confucianism, Shintoism) except Sikhism believe in Idol worship though Buddha & Jina may not be Gods.
