Since, the two blocks will move together, their acceleration will also be same.

Let the acceleration of the two blocks be 3 kg

Now, Total mass = 2 + 1 = 3 kg

Force applied = 3 N

F = ma

a = \frac{F}{m}

a = \frac{3}{3}

a = 1 m/s^2

Let the force between the two blocks be: F_c

Now, F(net) equation for block of 2 kg

3 - F_c = m_2 \times a

F_c = 3 - 2 \times 1

F_c = 1 N

Hence, the force of contact between the two blocks is 1 N
