here root word is pent that means 5 carbons

in the question given that two bromo, it means that on the 2nd carbon there is a bromine

and again for ethyl, it means ch3 which is on 3rd carbon

and finally 1,4 di ene , ene is a double bond which is on 1,4 carbons
