Given that,

2 by 5 kgs of butter is used to make 1 cake. i.e.,

2/5 kgs butter = 1 cake

multiply both sides with 2, then

(2/5)x2 kgs butter = 1x2 cake

4/5 kgs butter = 2 cakes. ----------- 1

To find:
The number of cakes that can be made using 12 4by 5 kg of butter. let the number be x

12  4/5 kgs of butter = x cakes   [ convert mixed into simple fraction]
64/5 kgs of butter = x cakes
16(4/5) kgs of butter = x cakes

from eqn 1,

16 x (2 cakes) = x cakes (total)

x = 32 cakes.

Therefore, '32
cakes' can be made using 12 4by 5 kg of butter.

Bonjour!

According to the question,

2/5 kgs of butter is used to make 1 cake.

We can write it as follows;

 \frac{2}{5}  = 1

We have to find number of cakes that can be made using 12 4/5 kg of butter.

So,

To find the required answer we will do the following steps;

Divide the total butter given by the butter required to make one cake.(unitary method)

 =  >  \frac{12 \:  \frac{4}{5}}{ \frac{2}{5} }    \\  \\  =  >  \frac{ \frac{64}{5} }{ \frac{2}{5} }  \\  \\  =  >  \frac{64}{2}  \\  \\  =  > 32

So, total number of cakes formed in 12 4/5 kgs of butter will be equal to 32.

(12 \frac{4}{5} \:  kgs \: butter \:  = 32 \: cakes \: )

Hope this helps...:)

RawatR: 62 is right ans cauz. 2/5butter =1cake and 124/5=? then let the no of cake be x so 2/5x=124/5X1. =124/5X5/2=64cakes
