▪ calculate the number of neutrons in the following atoms-
a) 13 Al 27
the given atom is aluminum...
▪ atomic number = Z = 13
▪ mass number = A = 27
☆ atomic number = Number of protons
= Number of electrons = 13
☆ mass number = Number of protons + Number of neutrons = 27
● number of neutrons = mass number- number of protons
= 27 - 13

▪ make a model of electronic configurations of Na and Cl by using beads.
refer to the attachment for the solution of this question....
electronic configurations :-
● Na - sodium
number of electrons = 11
K L M
2 8 1
● Cl - chlorine
number of electrons = 17
K L M
2 8 7

▪For an atom ' X ' , K, L , and M shells are completely filled. how many electrons are present in it??
¤ it is given in the question that
K, L and M shells are completely filled with electrons in the atom 'X'
▪ K shell accommodates maximum 2 electrons
▪ L shell can accommodate maximum 8 electrons
▪ M shell can accommodate maximum 8 electrons
therefore,
total number of electrons in atom'X' = 2+ 8 + 8
