2. Calculate the resistance of 50cm length of wire of area 0.01mm ^2
and resistivity of 5x10^-8ohmm.​

we are given, length of wire,

 = l = 50 \: cm  = 50 \times  {10}^{ - 2}   m

Cross-sectional,

 = A = 0.01 { \: mm}^{2}  = 0.01 \times  {10}^{ - 6}  {m}^{2}

Resistivity,

⇒ρ = 5 \times  {10}^{ - 8}   Ωm

As resistance,

⇒R = ρ \frac{l}{ A}

∴ \: R =  \left(  \frac{5 \times  {10}^{ - 8}  \times 50 \times  {10}^{ - 2} }{0.01 \times  {10}^{ - 6} } \right) \]Ω = 2.5Ω
