3) The process of transpiration provides the plant with evaporative cooling, nutrients, carbon dioxide entry and water to provide plant structure. Rates of transpiration depend on the water potential gradient from the soil to the atmosphere and the resistances to its movement through the plant.

3.Plants uptake water through their roots and release water vapor through small pores on the underside of their leaves. Through this process of transpiration plants also help circulate water from the soil back into the atmosphere.
