Solution :-

since AD is median, it will bisect side BC .

Let us assume that the coordinate of D are (x , y) .

so,

→ x = (5 + 3)/2 = 8/2 = 4

→ y = (-3 + 5)/2 = 2/2 = 1 .

then,

→ AD = √[(x2 - x1)² + (y2 - y1)²]

→ AD = √[{4 - (-1)}² + (1 - 1)²]

→ AD = √[(4 + 1)² + 0²]

→ AD = √(5)²

→ AD = 5 units (Ans.)

Hence, Length of Median AD is 5 units.
