2. Conduct a survey in your locality and identify three hypertensive patients. Collect the information on (a) their dietary habits and lifestyle (b) major dietary goals for management of hypertension. Analyze the data in terms of adequacy of the diet. Present the food intake data in tabular form.

  • A. The dietary habits and lifestyle have changed after they have been exposed to hypertension. This is because they decided to take food which are less in cholesterol. In addition to this the also decided to restrict their dietary intake of salt. Consume food which are rich in in protein and less fat content. in addition to this they decided to give up smoking after they were diagnosed with hypertension.

B. The major dietary goal for management of hypertension are given below

  1. To restrict the amount of salt which is taken in the food.
  2. To consume less amount of food which are rich in fat and cholesterol
  3. To give up sedentary lifestyle and do regular exercise
