Given : BC = 3 cm, AB = 6 cm and  AC = 4.5 cm

To find : Construct  Triangle  ABC & construct a triangle whose sides are

4/3  of the corresponding sides of triangle ABC

Solution:

Step  1  : Draw a  Line segment AB  =  6 cm

Step 2 : Using compass width  = 4.5  cm & Taking A as center , Draw an arc

Step 3 : Using Compass width = 3 Cm & taking B as center , Draw an arc Such that it intersect arc drawn in previous Step at C

Step 4 : Join AC  & BC

Δ ABC is Constructed

To Construct a line x/y  of Given line

Step  1 : Draw  given line AB

Step 2 :  Draw an acute angle  at A on AB

Step 3 : Using Suitable width of Compass 4 points one by one at equal distance

Step 4  : Join 3rd  point with  B

Step 5  :    Draw a line parallel to  the line passing through 4th point and   intersecting the Extended AB at  B'

AB'   =  (4/3) AB

Use this concept on AC to get AC'

& join B'C'
