2 cross roads, each of 3 m wide, run at a right angle through the center a rectangular park 26 m(length) , by 14 m ( breadth) such that each is parallel to one side of the rectangle? Find the area of the crossroads?​

Answer:

Area of a rectangular park = l × b = 64 × 38 = 2432 m2

Area of a horizontal road = l × b = 64 × 2 = 128 m2

Area of a vertical road = l × b = 38 × 2 = 76 m2

 

Common area = 2 × 2 = 4 m2

Area of the roads = 204 - 4 = 200 m2

 

Area of the remaining part of the park = 2432 - 200 = 2232 m2
