Answer:

Charles's law, a statement that the volume occupied by a fixed amount of gas is directly proportional to its absolute temperature, if the pressure remains constant. ... It is a special case of the general gas law and can be derived from the kinetic theory of gases under the assumption of a perfect (ideal) gas.

Answer:

Charles’s law, a statement that the volume occupied by a fixed amount of gas is directly proportional to its absolute temperature, if the pressure remains constant.

We know the equation for ideal gas,

PV=nRT

(P - pressure, V - volume, n - no. of moles, R - universal gas constant, T - temperature)

When pressure is constant,

V ∝ T or V/T = constant

This means that when pressure of an ideal gas remains same and if volume of the gas increases then temperature will also increase , if volume decreases then temperature will also decrease.
