Deforestation is mainly caused by the anthropogenic (human made) activities. Nowadays, we are trying to expand our cities and towns. we are trying to expand our infrastructure like roads, buildings,etc.... so, for this, we are cutting the trees.... Trees are one the best factors to increase soil fertility. Trees hold the soil together by their roots. They help in reducing soil erosion. Removing the trees leaves the soil bare to wind and other elements. As a result, the top soil is blown away by wind and gradually the soil erodes, making it unfit for the further cultivation of crops. It eventually makes the land barren which is nothing but desertification.
