A Mother board is a very complex part of a computer. This is actually the the base plate of computer where all the parts of computer such as RAM, hard disk CPU are assembled and work together here. A motherboard is made up of silicon and is another type of semi-conductor. There are different type of motherboards as per the need.
A CPU is another complex and important part of computer, it is mainly a chip. A CPU is a physical chip which has cores inside it. Simply more the core better the CPU but according to generations. Mostly a core has 1 or 2 thread in it which is not a physical part. It can be explained as a real life example like there is a man which is core and got 2 threads(hands) on it. More cores generate lesser lags on the functioning of a computer like it would be easy for a processor for handling 4 or more jobs like browsing, drawing, playing music etc. on it as more the cores more the thread more lag free the work would be. It also sometimes depend on generations of CPU. A newer generation always does better than previous one.
