you can use HCO3 and react them with an acid like hydrochloric acid in the following equation

NaHCO3( s) +HCl(aq)➡️ NaCl+ CO2(g)+ H2O(l)

or you can use a carbonate like sodium carbonate and react it with hydrochloric acid in the following equation

Na2CO3( s+HClaq➡️ NaCl +H2O+CO2(g)

so you realize that when you react a carbonate and an acid you get water (H2O) carbon dioxide (CO2) and a salt (NaCl)
