2) The Sikhs emerged an an important power in the 18th century. In 1708 Guru Govind Singh was stabbed to death by an Afghan assassin. But the Sikhs were united under Banda Bahadur. With 40,000 Sikh armed men Banda defeated the Mughal army near Sirhind and occupied Sirhind in 1710.

3)Hyderabad State was founded by Mir Qamar-ud-din Khan who was the governor of Deccan under the Mughals from 1713 to 1721.
